Also reminds me of a terrifying critter mashup I thought of years ago... for lack of a better name, I called it the octosquito. Yes, that's octopus and mosquito together. Imagine a tiny little octopus with wings, that flies silently in the night, and then suddenly swoops down and attaches itself RIGHT TO YOUR NECK with 10,000 hypodermic needles and sucker pads.
