As you can see from this my initial sketches are astronomically bad! I just try and get down the roughest of ideas of what I want, otherwise I can't visualise how to improve it.
The red sketch is one of the neatest sketches I have done, like ever, and is a poor representation of what I have when I typically start inking. It's usually even messier haha >w<
The rest is pretty easy to follow I think c: Flat colour > Shading > More shading > finishing touches
I thought it was interesting comparing the original to the finished product. Hope you like it!

I often try to keep the early stages rough and work from there but I cannot seem to help it as my 'roughs' tend to range from "Ugh these proportions are way off" to "What has the perspective gods done to me D:". So I end up with early sketches that are roughly as detailed as the final sketch. Really something I need to work on.
