This strikes me as a pretty good subversion/parody of the awful genie stories I see crop up on DA and FA. I really like djinn and wish-granting, but good writers are difficult to find on these websites. So, pretty much everyone uses the same contrived cliche where everyone invariably becomes brainless bimbos because the characters were absolutely idiotic and mean-spirited with wishes granted by an obviously corrupt djinn. And for stories about an individual that can change reality with a snap of the fingers, they can get surprisingly contrived.
Love this. Its so good; while it mocks the trope – it delivers in full anyway. There is just no way anyone should be able to hate this.
I especially like the annoyed pouty genie in the second to last panel. Her frusteration with her current client is so well conveyed the viewer can just feel it oozing out of the screen.
