...BOOM!
So Microsoft bought Minecraft... not the company that made it, nor the programmers behind it, just Minecraft itself. For 2.5 billion. And they expect they will make that money back from the property by spring of next year...

actually, hun, the three masterminds behind the company backed down. Notch never intended the game to get so big and was ill prepared for the responsibility of making a genre defining game. He left to save what was left of his sanity, vowing to drop any project that threatened to become super popular in the future lol
but I agree. Microsoft is likely to wreck this. I mean, they spent a shit ton of money on it and they have to make all that money back PLUS turn a profit? Merch sales are good but theyre not THAT good.....

I know the three masterminds backed down, but a lot of people that worked into the company, and basically the company itself technically, is now owned by Microsoft.
The main thing that worries me is the draconian DRM that Microsoft puts into all of their games interferring with java and basically making them completely unable to play at all. Not only that, but a Minecraft 2 which would probably not be the point of the whole thing, and will be remade for consoles first and then PCs second, which means less complex anything at all and less... Well. Just less.
That's not to mention like a dozen other problems that I could think of if I wasn't coughing my brains out.

Updating if anything makes it worse cause your stacking new, bugged, versions of java on new, bugged, versions of minecraft. I honestly have the best experience playing an update behind everyone with a year old version of java. Im running for my main server 1.6.4 with over 100 mods and Java 7, Update 51. I cant promiss it will work for you better then what you got but I rarely if ever crash.
