I think your right! I remember a piece he did called "Admiral Winston" it featured a unicorn Admiral in a short coat, thigh high boots and a thong, front and back version.

don't know about the Generals (I'm ex army so i can only attest to what i know) but i do know the officers under them just want to get them around and out as fast as possible.
I once saw a practice inspection for when the three star was coming about and after two trial runs, a couple of the full birds decided to take the Spc( who was standing in) on a third go around and the jokingly started to jog one of them commenting they wish the old man would go this fast and get back to where he was suppose to be

BTW I love the lower leg work. equines should never be plantigrade
