The eternally-adorable Soulcat! (and his nemesis, Boobah)

...Background explanations are in order, aren't they? All right, here goes: At MFF '07,  indigoangelcat and my paths' crossed with two girls who I shall henceforth refer to as the Soul Kitties. Returning home, I seized upon a chance for a sight gag and recruited her squishy pillo-pillo oversized Chococat as Soulcat.

This produced hours of merriment in the form of light-hearted teasing and silly puppetry.

And then Indigo acquired Boobah, a fluffy animatronic dancing singing random-rude-noise-ing critter best described as Grimace's love child. Boobah unnerves me, for reasons I can't quite describe.

Thus the eternal rivalry between Soulcat and Boobah was born.


And then a couple of weeks ago, hot on the heels of AC'08, while I was still drawing like I was being paid for it but lacked a to-do list of Things To Draw, I scribbled up a Soulcat character study, mostly b/c I was allowed near a pencil and paper unsupervised.

Also, as I'm addicted to character creation, I had this image in my head of a floaty ghost-like Soulcat, and wanted to play around with that. ^_^;
