I was alerted to an auction online for a "model" Russian AT-3 Sagger antitank missile... looking at the pictures, the rocket looked real. It came in today from Slovakia... it IS real!
It is inert, No warhead and no rocket motor propellant.

It's sort of weird how missiles on tanks was a big thing for a while, and then it just sort of stopped. Most of the cold war era tanks have the ability to launch missiles. Is it just that gun optics became so good that there was no point in spending space on missile storage/optics/all the gear you need to launch one?
Most nations have dedicated anti tank teams with suitable weapons. As far as I know, ex Warsaw -pact countries still field newer version of this weapon. We have the TOW, it's a dated but tried system. I am looking for the box and other gear to make this as complete as possible.
