Cute and she looks soft to touch and pet.

She is so, so soft.

Is she hyper or gentle like a hamster?

She's getting used to me still, she can be hyper.

Oh okay. So chinchillas are bouncy balls of love and softness. XD

They're very... sensitive. Like when I try to grab her, she "barks" like she doesn't want that! But now, I can place my whole hand on her, and pet her and she likes it. So they're very shy.

Oh okay. So when approaching a chinchilla, be as gentle as possible when wanting to pet them. Gotcha. X3

Yes, exactly. It takes time, and never rush to pick them up, it can literally take months. They have outstanding memory. I got her from someone else, and from what I heard, she was grabbed constantly, and she's just now getting used to contact on different areas that she would flinch at before. They never took the time for her to adjust, just thought okay, let's just pick her up, etc.

So they're also intelligent animals too. Me thinks the chinchillas are exotic pets but that's my assumption. :P

They are, they are nice I think. Just have to have time and patience. :3
