Lifedrawing Portrait "Mathilda"
This is a portrait done at our weekly lifedrawing sessions in vienna.
I had my Companion-Tablet with me and could work digital this time (usually i only bring pencils...) It was my first time doing a study in color from a person right in front of me!
And I think it's ok for a first-timer. Some problems with proportion are still there and some details just don't look good (lips...i really need to study more lips X_X)
But it's ok. Will definitely keep it up and try it again next time :)
Sadly my Companion had some problems with running Photoshop, so i had to work in Painttool SAI - but I realized, that it's the perfect tool for a tablet, since all the menus are accessible via pen on screen (no shortcuts needed)
Time: 3 x 25min Sessions
Tools: Painttool SAI, Wacom Companion Tablet

I think you did very very well. Looks beautiful, and gives me a good idea of what kind of beauty the person has.
I personally see nothing wrong with this picture, but then again, it would help to have a reff of the real person to compare with.
But all in all, i think it looks really great.
With a face like hers, it would surprise me if she does not already have a lover. hehe~

That's nifty and good to know! I do life drawing modeling as well. I tend to let my body do the acting as something and I like to bring props, but also think about how I want to act and provide various poses. I might look into using wigs as well. The sessions I model for are full nude so I don't have clothes to provide a costume or character in that manner.
AHH, this is awesome!! It blows my mind to think about getting to sit and digitally paint in a life studies class. I've been DYING to get my hands on the cintiq companion! Do you feel like you have to do a lot more zooming in and out than with a normal size monitor?? I love working on big screens.. but being able to transport the tablet anywhere is a preeettty tempting feature XD
Great work!!
Great work!!
