Emerald Knight, aka: Claire Beckett. Once knighted by the queen of England herself for her service to the crown. Jade had been a agent for her government though what she use to do for the crown is forever locked away in the vaults of MI6. However her work focus changed when she encountered a alien artifact while on a mission. Upon contact the strange alien artifact seem to come to life and leaped onto her. There was only a brief moment of shock before the device induced a state of unconsciousness. When she re-awoke only a few moments later she found nothing wrong with her as far as she could tell and decided to finish her mission and worry about what happen later. What she discovered quickly in-fact was she was now able to create these green hard light constructs almost at will. Once the mission was over she considered what to do about her new found abilities. Worried about being made Britain's version of 'Captain America' she informed her countrymen that she wanted to retire and was planning to go to the United States where she had family outside of Great Britain. Claire was surprised when her bosses allowed this and saw her off warmly. Though she had her suspicions she couldn't find anything to show ulterior motives before leaving and let it rest. She then made arrangements to move in with her sister in Tucson. Her sister Ashley(though she prefers just Ash) who was the cities chief of police had been having some difficulties with local problems as the city seemed to be suffering from a increase in local crime. When Claire got there and seeing both the city and her sister in turmoil she decided to put her powers to use. Dawning a spandex green and black costume she set off calling herself Emerald Knight, A play of the shade of green her constructs were. However unbeknownst to Claire while she suspected them at home MI6 had gone around and bugged her sisters home in the States and learned the truth behind Claire's motives. For the moment MI6 has decided to keep the knowledge to themselves but know that they have an Ace they can play should Claire's true home need her services again.
