More vector stylings of one of my original monster characters.
Truth is I'm moving away from this lineless style and back into using linework. Lately I've found doing the linework in Adobe Illustrator and then doing the colouring in Adobe Photoshop gives more pleasing results - it's just that I've not been able to adapt to that way of working before now.
I've never really been able to predict what direction my artwork will take me in - one moment it seems as though a lineless style is the way to go, then a few months later that all gets turned upside down again.

Yeaaah. I know what you mean. I'm sorry I never comment, but at this point, I'm more of a turbo-lurker than an active member. I love everything you do, though. You and a few other artists remind me of the potency of modern vector design, and that I should really, you know, learn to actually work in colour. You and I are both into character design, too, which is why I Socially Acceptably e-stalk you.
I like how the backdrop design reinforces an implied action. It's a subtle and neat effect.

It's okay to be a lurker - to be honest I can totally understand why people would want to stay away from the internet altogether - someone can say something perfectly well-meaning only for it to be taken the wrong way and people take offence and other people jump in on the drama and suddenly it's INTERNET WARS all over the place.
I used to be completely naive about colour myself - working entirely in linework to begin with - intending to add colour to the pieces later (which would often not work out at all). Nowadays I draft character designs and artwork using blocks of colour first - adding the linework later (if it's necessary). So I guess you could say that my approach to drawing has at some point turned on its head completely.
Thanks for the praise and keep working on your own stuff - you'll get your head around colour eventually.
