Dance on the rooftops
Today is the day.
Sing on the mountains
And run to the sea
For life as you know it
Slips gently away
While hastens the morrow
To come set you free
Forget disaster
And banish your fears.
Today remembers the promise it made.
Child of tomorrow
Though old in your years,
Donβt ever wish
That yesterday stayed.
Listen intently
When thunderstorms play β
Softly the rain and
The sky will decree
That life as you know it
Slips gently aay
While hastens the morrow
To come set you free.
Fly to the starlight
Tonight is the night.
Smile down on the bridge
Of the radiant dawn β
It beckons the new day
A new day that might
Leave behind letters
Of gold when itβs gone.
Glance through the pine groves
Watch green needles sway β
They know of the person
Who you long to see.
Now life as you know it
Slips gently away
While hastens the morrow
To come set you free.
Seek out the message
The traveller bearts;
Friendship and love
Are not easily gained.
So if you destroy
The person who cares,
Who will be there
When your heaven is stained?
Wait for the coolness
Of guarded windβs gift
To bring back the beauty
Of all that is lost.
Like a thick curtain
The sorrow will lift β
Turn it to ashes
Whatever the cost.
Remember the darkness
That hindered your way
But much more the light
Provided the key
To let life as you know it
Slip gently away
And to hasten the morrow
To come set you free.
