Ohh the wings on the head are used as air cutters, Apsaras are speed flyers, so the wings (in females) or feathers (in males) help them to cut the air and keep balance when going too fast =P . And the ankle wings give stability and an extra boost if the need to

Love the elemental aspect and the tails. I'm not sure about the wings on the head. Can they be folded and unfolded like regular wings? I love the foot wings though. So if I'm reading correctly, she is a normal Aspara or an Ayatti attuned to the Thunder Element. Seems pretty awesome! I hope to win her or look for an adoptable!

This girl is a normal Apsara with the birth element of Thunder. Ayatti Apsaras have 2 elemental stones on their hair, normal apsaras only one, and Yukti (Like my girl Suki) have cosmo stones n__n

You won me over at the long hair part of the species sheet. I LOVE long hair, it's definitely a hook. The peacock tail is LOVELY but kind of complicated but fits in nicely with the theme :) The fact that that wings don't have to stay unfolded is amazing, since wings probably would get cumbersome. I'd be interested in these as adopts if they were in my price range! Pastel hues are a wonderful thing <3

The wings remind me of Conny, one of my own adopted family. Seeing it at a glance I thought the red along her side were a call to Indian bellydancers. Then I saw it was actually tails, furs, so I was like Oh! Then I saw the tail and it looks gorgeous. It's design is so elegant, so beautiful, she just looks perfect.

Would I buy one? Yes!!! But being the juggernaut of an artist you and your partner are, prices are waaay out of my league. Those are my thoughts though.

These are definately one of the more unique species I have seen on this site, The connection to the elements as well as the magical stones really peaked my intrest. I have loved winged creatures (in particular fairies ... which these remind me of alot) since I was a child and creatures such as your gorgeous creation shown here always catch my eye ^_^ If given the chance I would love to have one of my own, whether it be by being fortunate enough to win one or having to save up the funds to get one

i think you do need to work on some anatomy more, the wings on the ankles are excessive if there are wings on the head and the back. the tail is creative and fun. the pattern on the body can seem a little overbearing. it looks good down the body until the feet, maybe mixing it up with a different style little design on the foot instead of keeping the moon/star pattern.

i might think of buying something like this at some time

If you think about it, the ankle wings could/are the more precise 'controls' for the tail and wings. Kind of like trim settings on aircraft?

if that were true, the ankles would have to be more bulky (and the wings larger) to actually have the muscles to shift the ankle wings around to stabilize or alter flight at all. so as they are, no, they are useless and only there for decoration. and the assumed ability of pivoting or other movement on any humanoid with wings is that the wings themselves are able to take control, or that outspread arms help.

What do I think of them? I like them! In fact, check your PM for some more info on what I think. ;)

I think the design on her body is interesting enough, though I'm a bit of a sucker for body-art. I like the cute, anime-like face and the fluffy tail, although I'm not fond of the head-wings. Those never make sense to me, especially bird head-wings. Bat head-wings you can at least pretend are ears. I like that there's a reason for the braid, which suggests a spiritual element to them, but I have to wonder what happens when they don't have a braid. Can they no longer control elements? Do they lose status among the other Apsara?

As for whether or not I'd actually buy one... Probably not. I've been thinking I ought to buy an adoptable once I had the money to spare, but I've seen more intriguing creations by other people.

I really appreciate your sincere opinion about the design of my species n__n . Im aware there are people that like the elements of characters to have a reason and a purpose, and I completely respect that. ABout the braid, not every Apsara has a braid, but they always have 2 bangs of hair (done in any hairdo they like the most) that carry their element stones. Of course if they dont have one or the 2 bangs, they loose they elemental stones, therefore they cant control magic and they loose status to one of kind of useless ^^u

Im sad to hear you wouldnt buy one, but I completely understand it n_n everyone has their own tastes, and if you like more other creations I completely respect that X3

I find the whole concept of a new species is fascinating. It definitely seems more human than animal, though elements of the latter are still there in the ears and wings. By the way she is dressed, this Apsara seems to be very comfortable with her body. I have to wonder, though: are all Apsara's this open about their dress code? That hair and those bright green eyes are stunning as well~

The dress I chose for her is mostly to show off her markings, but Apsaras can wear anything, from something revealing like the example of this image, to a complete attire that covers their entire body. I will leave that to the personal taste of each owner n__n

While she is absolutely gorgeous and I do love how beautifully things have been put together for how she looks I must be honest I find the colouring on this particular lady to be a little "clashing" when together like this, I think that is my one and only problem I must openly admit to thinking, though I do know not all the ladies of this wonderful species will be these colours. I love the little touches and the way her tail is fluffed, I have a thing for tails like that, or is it a big feather? I muddle up sometimes. But I honestly do find everything about her quite beautiful, the colouring for this instance just clashes, at least in my opinion. A few complimenting colours would be amazing, a few of these feel loud next to the other ones

And as for buying an adopt from you? heck yes

As I said and you admit and know too, there will not always be so many clashing colours on all members of this species and this is just what I think of it, a lot of the colours just not going together. Lovely design with many options. I will put forth my own comments.

Yes, I would be curious about adopting such a design, but the complexity of so much flowing movement and color would be difficult for me to fully capture in a 3D Figure model. Wings are some of the most difficult features to model and animate on any character. So they are something I have focused my attention on recently.

Her ankle wings seem a bit awkward and perhaps fragile, especially during their younger more playful years. Also Trying to visualize an Animated movement of the head wings... Perhaps some of the species might choose to cover or protect these areas with Jewellery or coverings.

I would certainly adopt one if I could be certain I properly understood how they move, and was certain that I could do the design justice by trying to bring them to life, with your assistance. The less moving parts, such as shorter hair, tails and wings, the easier a character is to model and animate. A character design like this would be a difficult challenge to animate, and perhaps would be best as a posed figure, or single image.

For modeling this kind of characters will surely pose a big difficulty level, for all the little elements they have.

The ankle wings can be a bit more fluffy, maybe the image didnt help at all with that, but they will keep being small in size. About the head wings, each owner can add jewelry or accessories as they please n__n there is no restriction at all, the only thing is that the head wings cant be eliminated completely.

About their movement, well, they dont have anything special or complicated, they move like normal people, their wings can be folded at will, the back wings can dissapear completely to improve their movement and when flying, imagine a bird flying.

Hello Hello I must say that you have created an absolutely beautiful species here Mrs. Shana. They look very elegant and fancy. I could see them being like elemental spirits or deities in stories. I love the wings and the gemstones showcasing to their element. The only thing I would say that I don't like is the plantigrade feet. I would prefer digigrade myself. (Though now that I continue to read the description of them I see they can have avian style feet too, so that's null) Overall I would say that they are a nicely developed species and I can't wait to see what you do with them and other designs.

Though isn't this female missing her hip wings?

Yeah, I knew some people wouldnt like the human/plantigrade feet, that is why I gave the option of the feet swap =P to try and fit in everyone tastes.

And nop, this girl is a normal Apsara, therefore she doesnt have hip wings and feathers on her head. Yukti Apsaras are the ones that have the hip wings, the feathers on the head and the cosmo stones additional to her element stones =P (like Siku, my yukti apsara girl)

I must say that I simply adore the species concept. I am a bit of a sucker for head wings, and multi-wings in general. Are the wings on the back capable of flight? I do not think that was explained within the species description you linked. I kind of hope so~ I'm a sucker for flight-capable species too!
