One of MLP:FIM's recurring themes has been making friends out of enemies (Luna, Trixie, Gilda, Discord, etc.), and with the changelings being one of the few instances when an entire species was the antagonist, I've always felt efforts should be made to include them somehow too. Like maybe Chrysalis's defeat legitimizes the arguments of other changelings in favor of diplomacy, who succeed in their appeals to Celestia and actually do manage to achieve strong enough results that even Chrysalis starts to think "Hmm, maybe I should give it a try." In which case a scenario like this could actually happen.

Chrysalis: "So what made you decide to go spend the entire summer living with the evil changeling queen that almost leveled Canterlot?"
Filly #1: "We were the last in the ambassadorship program to say 'Not it.'
Filly #2: "Don't say that! That's mean!"
Chrysalis: "No, it's okay. I laughed."
