I thought the same thing! Light type would make so much sense. I imagine it would be effective against ghost and dark types, and not effective against fire and grass!
It seems like pokemon is beating a dead horse with every new generation. For example, Mega Evolution? Digimon copy-pasta. Next thing is "my little pony" type or something. But our little kids keep buying it.

They should make some more grown up versions for people that grew up with the series. I mean, with a bit darker tones, without being afraid to follow a storyline that's not black/white, good versus bad.
I was even beginning to write down something for my pleasure, and light types would have fitted greatly. But I refuse the idea of a fairy type legend.
