A sneak peek at a piece I hope to have in the Further Confusion art show next year. In ongoing tradition of pairing Rosemary with large caliber hand-held firearms I am going for one of the largest ever produced in mass quantity, Lahti L-39 20mm anti-tank rifle. If you're interested in a quick, very general history go here. link
One of the amusing things I discovered doing research for this piece was how much bigger than Rosemary the L-39 was. In fact I will have to make the L-39 larger than I show in the thumbnail sketch because it is 26" longer than she is! That makes the Barrett M82 she's holding in "Big Stick" link seem tiny.

This article made me go research the Robocop Movie. The big anti-tank rifle that they used to take out Ed the Droid was an older model M82
fitted with plastic and called a Cobra Assault Cannon. The Lahti L-39 might work well for a larger morphic creature. say Horse, Lion, Tiger, or some such larger framed animal. The Finns called it their Elephant Gun. Imagine a Morphic Elephant using this gun, single handedly.
You could call it RoboGOP and have him shoot an army of Donkey Democrats!

I can only babble incomprehensibly at this thing.
And then I read the description and SWEET BABY JEEBUS IT CAME IN A FULL-AUTO VARIANT.
I think the only things left are a shoulder-fired Rheinmetall L55 or a GAU-8/A with chainsaw grips.
And on top of that! Apparently all these characters are running around in your head. What's Rosemary's reaction to periodically finding herself heaving around these monstrosities, apparently in squeaky shiny boots and no pants in this instance?
And yet at the same time I would honestly love to see a version of this pairing right at the moment of firing, with the shell maybe a barrel length past the muzzle and the huge flash and shockwave in full effect.

Well these are all done as professional modeling/ pinup shoots for various companies or publications so for her its just another day at the office. Also she does enjoy shooting.

Having read about the "crunch gun" in the SF tabletop RPG Traveller, I just smiled when I saw the gun and its description.
What made me pause was Rosemary's pose. Not the outfit (although bicep-long gloves, thigh-high boots, and what looks to be just a leather bra is eye-catching enough) but seeing her on all fours over the back end of that weapon. It's almost like she intends to lay down on top of it.

Yeah. I read that and... Full auto variant. WAT.
I still wanna poke Petina and plant the idea in her head, though.
Rosemary in fire-engine red outfit, going completely 'Screw Gravity' and hip-firing a GAU-8 with chainsaw grips, with the volkswagen-size ammo drum as a backpack, in complete Heavy Veapons Guy insane-mode.
Because it's about the only thing left for her now.

With the ammo clip upside...it has the iron sights on the side? Interesting, never seen that design before.
Well there were several machine guns and even a couple submachine guns that used the magazine on top and sights on the side. The Bren gun jumps to mind as an example.
Just wounder how much shots you can "take" before your shoulder needs a timeout.
Well this might give you some idea of what it is like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvsfT1_W6TE
