Over on my tumblr blog, I've been occasionally trying out new hairstyles for Nightshade. You've seen a few full colour examples here, but I thought I'd repost some of my monotone sketches too.
I've never been really satisfied with her braided hairstyle. The lack of bangs made her look like she had a receding hairline or something. I took her Night Moves dominatrix haircut and lengthened it a bit more here. Looks kind of Egyptian-esque with also a bit of that fashionista or dominatrix look to it.
Tumblr seemed to really like this new look. What do you think? Is this better than the braids? Are the bangs okay? Should her hair be longer like the left pic, or do you like those wing-like locks? Lemme know - your opinions matter!

Ugh, can't write replies and look at the art at the same time.
Personally, I like the one on the right. I associate shorter hair with dominance and forwardness, so I think the one on the right suits her more, although the one on the left would make her look slightly more regal.
Overall, I like the change, though this means she'll now even more resemble an OC of mine... or vice versa. Eh, 'tis the price I pay.
