A little scrap cropped from my sketchings lately. Just practicing a little with value, believe it or not, as well as trying out different techniques with paint, colored pencils, and graphite.
Maui is my main avatar, a pine marten/skunk mix; hence, "skarten."

My only suggestion would be to watch out for overlapping yellow and blue in real media... you get areas of green, and I find green is a VERY overpowering color (maybe that's why I like it so much? XD) which makes fur just look weird. Do note that digital work differs 'cause you're painting with LIGHT, not pigment... so if you overlap blue and yellow you get a sort of grey. SO this only really applies to real media.
