I custom made a tank divider for my lizards so I could have a nice little water feature without those craptastic waterfalls the pet stores sell. For me, all those waterfalls do is look pretty for a little bit then end up as a cricket sacrificial tower for them to drown themselves and praise the great water pump god.
First I measured out my tank to see how long to make it, how far I can fill the tank with water before I hit the black strip, and then how tall I wanted the wall. I made it taller than the water line to be sure I wouldn't be losing water to the back area that I would rather not drown out. I purchased a nice filter/water pump for the water feature as well.
After I sculpted it (I used some minerals to roll onto the clay for rock texture) I started to mold. I had to make a 2 piece mold partially to save on silicone and make it easier to cast. I did a test cast on the smaller piece to see if I liked it and then cast the full piece.
I cleaned the old tank and made sure it was dry. Using aquarium safe silicone I attached it into my tank where I wanted it and created a watertight seal! I tested it out and I liked my efforts :3.
Set up the whole tank and everything is working fantastically while looking amazing. Much easier to clean and if I see a cricket attempting to appease the great water pump god I can easily just take it out rather than disassembling the whole waterfall and all the mess that came with that.
The birch bark and different types of mosses in there are real. :3.

I didn't realize how much of a water area you made, it was kinda hard to see in the pic you sent me. Now im thinking you should do salamanders or a lesser siren (i just got one of those last month). You could even just do minnows, guppies, or bettas in the water and put other geckos and things that don't bother with the water on the land part! :D So many cool options ^.^
Nice jon on the sculpt :) turnout if beautiful! More work but it's so much better when you do it yourself. Haha any type of water pump store thing always DOES turn into a cricket sacrifice tub. I'm guessing crested geckos? I do a a lot of marine scuplts for tanks that turn out looking awesome, so much better than buying something crappy
