He's a little less cheery than his brother ( http://www.furaffinity.net/full/1458317/ ), but just as floofy! Sorry if you're getting sick of seeing canines with feathers or wings, maybe I should branch out and draw some felines with feathers or wings. XD When I'm back in school, I won't have a chance to indulge this favorite drawing subject of mine, so I guess I'm getting it all out while I can.

Oh come now... XD It's fantasy art, saying it's "just pieces of them glued onto other critters" is like saying an anthro bird is just a "man with feathers".
And yes, there is a chance of that! I love birds to death, Red Tailed Hawks being my favourite. I'd likely go with a six limbed version though, I dig the gryphon look.

I've considered making one, but it's honestly nothing I can't just say to people with simple text. Maybe a tutorial someday for fun. It's all about layering, really. I start with the darkest colors, placing them only in the spots where the darkest shadows are. I used lighter colors to push back/blend those shadows and create midtones, then finally, use the lightest colors on top to do the same to the midtones. Pencil is just the icing on the cak, to correct errors and sharpen up details.
