The animated Balto movie has at least one of those direct-to-video sequels. I haven't seen it and probably never will, but I remember being at the store a few years ago and seeing a VHS tape with a title like "Balto II: The Quest". At that, I thought "Hmm... Does this mean he's going to start a pack that rides elves?"
