This was a poetry assignment for creative writing class at Mississippi State University, written November 2010.
I believe it was the last poem I created for the semester, to put together everything I had learned.
I saw the title and cried because I thought "OH this one's going to make me sound like a social justice warrior." XD
THEN I read it and cried because 20-year old me really meant it (and still means it.)
I...I'm not sure I could write another poem better than this without thoroughly researching poetry again, and another equally passionate message on my mind.

Well, the damages are done. We tamed cattle and cows and bulls can't surive in the wild. Pigs which are completely used can though, they go "wild" and become a detriment to the landscape...chickens would die out in a matter of months it's been proven, they've more predators then allys and no known defenses.
So which is sadder? The fact we eat them? Or the fact, if we didn't, most of them will die off anyways?

I don't know, and I don't have an answer. However, I do believe that the current methods we are using are not the best ones.
