This entity transcends our plane of reality. The glow of its aurora-heart is as strong as what's left of the Arctic as we knew it. The closer the Arctic gets to its former glory, the stronger this figure gets.
Its same source of strength is also its weakness. For though the Arctic and this figure are co-dependent, this figure gains its strength by taking in the Arctic's waste-- shifting, and forming through snow to consume it. This figure, in its love for what used to be, must fade for the Arctic and wishes for it no other way.
But as I said-- it transcends. In its existence, run by its will to earn its one and only wish, it became the embodiment of its wish. Its love has transformed the neglect it consumed, into a land of brand new hope. This figure, and the Arctic are, in fact, one of the same.
Created for Australia's regional Queensland Cartooning Competition 2013 (Dec; which, unfortunately, was abandoned half way). THEME OF COMPETITION: Superheroes of the Arctic -- Ecology.
