More fiddling with my charcoal pencils. I got a small pack of 'natural' colors, e.g. white, black, and a few shades of brown. This was the result of my first experiment with them. It's done on some of my tea stained paper.

This reminds me of a concept I saw in a Pittsburgh museum. Some new dinosaur was shown as having wings, but I have no way of knowing why they chose that. Nothing in the bones screamed, "I have wings" to me (Do ostriches have hollow bones like most birds? I wouldn't know).
Also, unlike the exhibit's image, this is not a digital dodge and burn airbrush mess. What I am looking at now is an image of class and personality. Thanks for sharing it. :)

actually, all birds have hollow bones. a bone's strength comes from it's structure, not if it's filled with something. if you look closely at small birds and how they strain their tiny bones with flying, and jumping around on the ground you'sd be amazed what they can do without breaking apart. :)
