I thought this would be a good idea for a book, the last remaining tiger in the wild.
This idea came about after I went to the zoo and read some info on tigers. If we don't do something soon, they'll be gone.

Very stirring and meaningful.
One of the reasons I wish scientists would recalssify Homo Sapiens...
Kingdom: Protista
Phylum: Macrocorpa (large body)
Class: Theria
Order: Anthropodae
Family: Hominidae
Genus: Homo
Species: Sapiens
It makes more sense to think of humans as an occasionally symbiotic plague....especially now that we're begining to be able to do to other planets what we've done here and are seriously considering it -_-;;

that's what the scientific words mean ^^;
Protista: same kingdom virii belong to.
Macrocorpa: I made it up, but it just means large or multicellular virii.
Theria: a kind of animal
anthropodae: human-like
Hominidae: human
Homo:person
Sapiens: capable of thought.
Just because you've got the misfortune to be encased in a human body doesn't mean you have to act like they normally do; that bit about "sapiens" means that some varieties are smart enough to preserve their environs from destruction in order to further sustain them. They'll outlive the rest of the strain, nature demonstrates this over and over. They're the ones i'd imitate *nodnod*

*smiles* Not contributing to the problem is more complicated than most people would imagine, but I'm not going to preach XD
I love that your heart's in the right place and you let it show in at least one of your works. Keep it up, your point of view is becoming more popular.

I'd like to quote the matrix. I think this quote is very true, in a way.
Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species, and I realised that humans are not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment; but you humans do not. Instead you multiply, and multiply, until every resource is consumed. The only way for you to survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern... a virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer on this planet, you are a plague, and we... are the cure.
Sometimes, I feel that analogy is correct. Sadly.
There was an article in our newspaper about spotted owl population declining. Also about aerial hunting of predators such as wolves and bears. Also the shooting of wolf pups while they are in their den, also called denning. And this was all just in today's paper!
It's so sad.
Why do people only are about themselves?
Why can't we all just get along?

Wow, that quote sent shivvers down my spine, I've seen the Matrix pleanty of times, but I've only just seen the power in what is being said.
And, people shoot pups in the den? I've never heard that...it's appauling to say the least.
It's nice to know some people care though, making breeding programmes to help boost numbers, it's just a shame the animals have to stay in the zoo and will probably never get a chance to live free in the wild :(
Isn't that terrible? Animals can't live where they're ment to, out of fear of being shot.
Thanks for showing me that quote ^^

We live in Alaska, and so things are a little different here. The native tribes get subsistence rights to hunt, and that causes a lot of issues. The reason aerial hunts are happening are to ensure that the population of caribou and moose stay high, so that people can hunt them. The government (Dept. of Fish and Game) are the ones organizing the hunts. They've been contracting hunts out to private pilots and hunters. It's sad. Over 800 wolves have been killed since the program was initiated in 2003. This is an issue that will be presented on our next ballot.
Still, there is a silver lining. The program wanted to have killed over 3 times as many wolves by now. The wolves are getting smarter and are hiding.
