I try to turn up the brightness on my monitor and it doesn't work either...

Try turning it way way down...

At least you can SEE the comments. I haven't been able to see (or make) comments for months now.

All it really does is make those comments load much faster.

I've had some measure of success with the "Off" position of the power switch...

I never understand how when people say "It was a Troll comment and you fell for it" like that's an excuse, I still think that person really means what they said and what they said is entirely a reflection on them as a person.

A smaller screen might help...

This is exactly why I left Facebook and never bothered with Twitter. Facebook never gave me the depth of conversation I had wanted with my old friends, so I left it.

In the comments sections on CNN news articles, the intelligent and thoughtful responses are often swamped with "gotcha" remarks and people steering the conversation toward blaming someone they hate(even if said person had NOTHING to do with the article's subject). This is why I don't bother participating there, either.
