Sometimes experimenting with a new medium can make you more confident than working with something you alwayd do. I mean for me, I can go in thinking it probably won't be my best work and that's ok.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. You don't have anything to lose! That should be the case no matter what you do, but I guess it's also the draw of an original result being beyond the grading good or bad.
