So, first stop - the capital city of the USA, the city was a lot warmer than I'd expected, but thankfully vendors with coolers stacked with ice and soft drinks are the antidote to this. I managed the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, and took a long walk around the central sites, including the Washington Monument, the White House (heavily guarded even though he was in Wales at the time...), and Ford's Theatre.
