This is the one hundred and thirty-first item, the one hundred and eleventh art piece, the forty-seventh original art piece and the thirteenth piece for 2014, since the formation of the museum.
This is the first of five one-panel story pages that had been ordered earlier this month by
gamegod210 from
saphine. The five pages will show Sharpfury's first encounter with Germania. The story itself takes place a few weeks after the end of New Enemies, Old Friends, in which Sharpfuy forces Ranger to rescue Lady Liberty by throwing the Mighty Mare into the waters of Colmaton's harbor, thus allowing him to escape. A few weeks later, Sharpfury is still pissed by the fact that Ranger had forced him to let go of the mare, and he wants to get revenge on the two. He soon finds out that Germania just happens to be a friend of the two, and he figures that he if can capture her, he could use her as bait to trap her friends, and then sell the three femmes to the highest bidder. So, he writes her a bogus letter and...
Germania sighed angrily as she trudged through the empty woods. This was beginning to feel to her like either a wild goose chase or that she’d been deliberately deceived. Scowling, she looked again at the note that she’d received earlier that evening. Germania, I’ve got news that something big is about to happen soon. Meet me in the woods and I’ll tell you everything. Please come alone, ‘cause if word gets out that I’m the one who’d passed this on to you then I’m dead. An hour and a half later and she was still here in the woods, by herself, and she had decided right then that enough was enough. “Ven ich get mein hands on whoever had sent me this letter ich’m going to…”
Germania stopped in mid-sentence as a faint beeping sound caught her attention. Drawing out her sword, she slowly advanced towards the sound’s point of origin. Soon enough, Germania found the device in question. A small box was beeping in the hollowed out knot of a nearby tree. Knowing better than to blindly reach in and grab it, yet still curious enough that she didn’t want to leave it, Germania had her guard up as she carefully gave the object an exploratory nudge with the tip of her sword. When nothing happened, she frowned and gave it a little harder push.
That extra force was enough for the object, and with a harsh click it suddenly emitted a blinding flash. “Verdammit, mein eyes!” Germania shouted as she stumbled backwards. She was trying to get the spots in her vision to clear when she heard a loud thud near her feet, followed by a soft hissing. Though she still couldn’t see clearly, there was no mistaking that sweet odor. “Somafoam! Ich haff to get out of here fast!” she shouted as she tried to wave the smoke away from her face.
Trying to get out of the green cloud that had enveloped her, Germania never saw the sudden punch to her stomach that took her breath away in an instant. Dropping to her knees, she was quickly shoved onto her back and a large boot pressed down on her shoulder. “Where do ya think you’re going, blondie? Party is right here, and you’re the fucking guest of honor.”
Germania couldn’t place the voice, but as she slowly lost consciousness she was able to make out the form of a large male. One that was sneering at her and appeared to be missing an eye.
