Sam "Magpie" Piper was the first succubus born into Ambrose's clan after his ascension. Knowing what she was from childhood, she still allowed her headwings to be a "surprise" to see how her village would respond. They responded by locking her in a potato cellar. She in turn responded by developing a hobby of potato-carving. When that got boring (about an hour later), she escaped, busting the cellar doors open and leaving the potatoes arranged into the words "see you next timc," having run out of potatoes before she could finish the "e" in "time."
After escaping the cellar, she reunited with her parents, who brought her to Ambrose. Since then, Sam has served as Ambrose's representative at SAIA. Because Ambrose's clan does not "officially" use SAIA, Sam does not attend clan meetings. Instead, she serves as a messenger and delivery girl. At SAIA, she gained the nickname "Magpie" for her fondness for shiny things and tendency to not ask before taking them.
As of DMFA canon (using Abel's 400th birthday as a benchmark) Sam is 1217 years old, and has two sons: one in clan Owona and one in clan Dimanika. Her Owona-clan son has three children of his own, a son in clan Taun and a pair of semi-identical M/F twins in clan Zezzuva. Sam's clan symbol is to the left of her navel, and she likes to joke that her emotional affiliation is "math, violets, and bitter ale." Her current hobby is researching the differences in strength between large clans with no Clan Leader and small clans with one, which is about fifty percent books on clan genealogy, fifty percent trying to talk Jin-clan cubi into "breeding for science."
