Here, we cut away from Reptile and Freddy to find that Fury is being stalked by an unknown entity. It seems his hasty departure from his visit with Reptile was because he knew something like this was about to happen. He runs into an abandoned building hoping to hide from it, but this entity seems hard to shake.

Yes, Fury is much closer to the door in Panel 2 than he is in the other panels. I did that for dramatic effect.
