There’s a plaguing paradox about the past and fate.
If we could change the past we’d lose the lessons we learned.
If I did fix my mistakes... would I be any better?
Go back twelve years to my home...
Bury the invasion that happened .
Ignore the person I became.
Who would save my lost innocence?
I can live with regret if I’m better for it.
Now I’m caught between representation, allocation, substitution , and absolution.
What would be any different?
If I bury my questions I’ll forgo knowledge.
Where would I be now?
I keep my cross and my heart covered ,
for the things that keep me alive,
are the things people try to kill me with.
If only I could tell them they’re above this
and that they’re always welcome in His arms.
Forgive my affections .
I want to love without constraint .
I want to do all the good that I can.
But death surrounds me.
If I had a voice that could rend mountains
I might be strong enough to change the world.
I am but a man by himself, forever in His Grace.
I wish I could take back every wasted breath.
