I think Wolf aspires to be an evil mad genius. Step one in the evil mad genius handbook says to make sure you have enemies on hand at all times.

(Useful for target practice.)

Ah yes but you see the problem with that particular equation is that you can never be more awesome then you already are when if you have friends that are more awesome then you are, you are constantly getting pushed to newer and higher peaks of awesome.
