"Kongo-botomy Part 3"
by LanDelton
Mask walked through the jungle of Kongo Bongo. "Walking" might not be the correct word for his movement, since his feet never perturbed his purple cloak. It looked more like he was gliding along the ground. The blank canvas that was his mask never turned for its wearer. Mask looked ahead with purpose, never faltering from his unfamiliar surroundings. He only stopped when he found his target. "Hello, Donkey Kong," he said in his modulated voice.
Standing in front of Mask was Diddy in Donkey Kong's body. He was carrying his original body over his left shoulder. "Who are-" Diddy cleared his throat. He didn't want to blow his cover. "I mean, who are you?" he asked in a deeper tone, trying to mimic DK's voice. Mask looked at Diddy's exposed brain, then at the small ape being carried around. "You're terrible at impersonations, Diddy Kong."
A beeping sound emerged from the implant in Donkey Kong's skull. Suddenly, Diddy's brain was ejected into the air, leaving Donkey Kong's body lying on the ground, brainless again. A robotic hand emerged from beneath Mask's cloak, and stretched several feet upward. With a small squishing sound, it caught the brain. "Perfect," Mask said as he retracted the arm. "All I need now is Donkey Kong's brain." From the trees above, the robot that infiltrated Donkey Kong's home last night jumped down. With its many mechanical tentacles, it picked up the two brainless apes, who were giggling to themselves.
Mask and his robot made their way to Cranky's house. "Hello?" the cloaked madman called out. He saw Donkey Kong's scalp laying on a nearby table. "No!" he yelled as he scrambled toward the table. "Where is it? Where is that brain?!" Mask then heard Cranky, who started to wake up. He ran over, and shook the elderly ape awake. "Wake up! Tell me where Donkey Kong's brain is!" Cranky immediately snapped back at him. "Hold your horses!" he yelled. He stood himself up. "Didn't your mother teach you any manners?!"
Cranky spotted Donkey Kong and Diddy in the clutches of Mask's robot. "DK! Diddy!" He looked back at Mask. "What'd you do to them, you... you...!" Mask was losing his patience. One of his mechanical hands held Cranky up by his neck. "Tell me where DK's brain is!" Mask ordered. Cranky had trouble speaking. "That no good K. Rool took it... Urk!" Mask dropped Cranky on the floor. He and his robot rushed out the door. "Wait!" Cranky yelled.
When Mask and the robot ran onto the bridge, a crack formed beneath them. The bridge broke from underneath them. Mask jumped to safety, while the robot plummeted, taking DK and Diddy with it. "NOOOOO!" Mask yelled in anger.
When he made it down to the ground, Mask found his robot destroyed, while the bodies of DK and Diddy were sitting next to each other. "Big toy go boom," DK said while Diddy was mindlessly chewing on his tie. Mask was beyond frustrated. "I'm out of time!" he thought. A metallic tentacle, identical to the one in Donkey Kong's head, emerged from the cloak, and grabbed Diddy's brain. Without hesitation, Mask stuffed it into DK's skull, reconnecting it to the body. "Yowza!" Diddy called out. Mask picked up Diddy's body. "Come with me," Mask demanded before going off. Diddy ran after him. "Wait! Where are you going with my body? That's one-of-a-kind, you know!"
Back at his lair, King K. Rool sat on his throne, marveling at the Crystal Coconut, which was now in his claws. DK's brain resided in a glass case on the small table next to him. "Oh, what should I do first?" he pondered. "Maybe I should erect a statue in my honor? Or perhaps I could rub my power in that blasted pirate's face! Oh, that would be delightful!" He then saw Mask and Diddy run toward him. "Donkey Kong?!" K. Rool yelled in surprise. "Impossible!"
Diddy, in DK's body, leaped toward K. Rool. The crocodile, too in shock to do anything, fell backward as Diddy's force broke the throne knocking it down, and rendering K. Rool unconscious. Diddy grabbed the Crystal Coconut. "Alright, I've had enough of the hero business for one day. I wish DK and I were back in our own bodies!"
The Coconut shined with an intense white light. The bodies of the apes, as well as their brains, were enveloped by a strong white aura, and started floating in the air. Diddy's brain was taken out of Donkey Kong's skull, and was stuffed back into his own head. DK's brain was then put back in his head. The Crystal Coconut even teleported his scalp back on his head, and reattached it to its original position.
When the glowing stopped, Donkey Kong and Diddy were back to normal. "Oh man, I feel like my brain fell down a waterfall," DK said as he tried to get a hold of himself. Diddy gave him a hug. "Oh, DK! I missed you so much!" Donkey Kong laughed, and pried the small monkey off of him. "What's gotten in to you, little buddy?" Diddy smirked. "Oh, nothing."
Meanwhile, Mask was at his computer console. After a few button presses, the console disappeared, and a dark purple portal opened next to him. Diddy yelled at him. "Hey, you're not getting away!" he yelled. Mask ignored him, and stepped through the portal, which then dispersed.
Back at Cranky's place, the elderly ape gave DK a check up with his x-ray machine. "Well, whatever that masked weirdo did to you is gone, now," he said. "That robot and computer chip disappeared by the time I fixed the bridge." "Fix" was not the best word to describe Cranky nailing his door over the gap on the bridge. "Anyway, you're good to go. Now, go! I don't any more trouble today."
Donkey Kong and Diddy were walking by the beach, observing the setting sun. "What a day, DK," Diddy said. Donkey Kong rubbed his head. "I'll say. I've got a major headache. What happened, anyway?" Diddy laughed. "I'd tell ya, but you won't be able to wrap your head around it."
In a dark room, Mask stands alone. "I underestimated the laws of that world," he thought. "I should've known better than to pick one as loony as that. Well, there's always the next one..."
