Every state is different. Georgia is pretty simple, fill out a form, get fingerprinted, and after a GBI/FBI background check they send it to you in the mail. We're a shall issue state too, no begging, bribing, or "proving need", if you're not disqualified (felon or other) they have to give you one. Also in GA members of the military and police are technically exempt from needing the GAWCL. We also don't do weapon registration aside from the federally required procedures for NFA items.
