Talking about anime tropes, have you ever seen a site called http://www.tvtropes.org? An incredible list of thousands of tropes used in anime, manga, comics, literature, Tv and film, and even furry fandom. Be prepared to lose a couple of hours when you first look at it, though.

At least they found the "fun" part of the thing ^.^

Every onerous duty has at least one fun aspect. Otherwise no one would stick around, regardless of how dire the need.

Hello police dept here... What? Two flying 11 year olds? With magical wands. Uh huh, we'll get right on that. (I can see this being reported at least a few times a day :D)

*snickers* I'm suddenly reminded of a book I read at about that age: Black and Blue Magic, which involved a young boy getting a magic salve that could grant him wings as thanks for saving a magician. He got reported a few times as well, despite trying to stay quiet. Granted, going out to rescue a couple of younger kids on a raft didn't exactly help in terms of staying quiet... not that anybody believed them when they said an angel had rescued them.
