6 PALE BY COMPARISON, NURSERY FABLES:
#2. “The Dancing Flute Bones”
Based on the legend of the Singing Bones and the Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon called “The Skeleton Dance.” A young musician Hans spends all of his time in playing his own hand crafted flutes and hopes to one day be a professional flautist. However, since everyone makes fun of him, he spends most of his time practicing at night, deep in the woods where there are no bathrooms for acres. One day he finds a hollowed stick near trunk of a lonely graveyard tree and fashions it into a new flute to play. No sooner does it start to play its eerie song does the graveyard come alive with skeletons and skulls rising from their graves. Some would find it bizarre but Hans found it rather amusing, since bones began to dance to the sound of his flute’s song. And that’s how Hans found the secret of the Dancing bones, who continue to dance so long as he keeps playing a tune.
