the Jubelius Knights and the Azure Assassins (as they were called in Vangard comic, though I'm not sure if the word 'Assassins' is going to be used for them in this) remind me of the Umbra Witches and the Lumen Sages from the Bayonetta series: two factions that we're (as you left as a cliffhanger in Vangard, though I'm not sure if this statement is true in this comic) once allies that fought together to protect the inhabitants of the world until some point in time, of which afterwards the two faction began to go to war with each other. The only real difference is that the origin of the conflict between the Jubelius Knights and the Azure Assassins is unknown and the Jubelius Knights do not (unless trying to hide it for some reason) possess any supernatural powers, while in Bayonetta, the conflict between the two clans was because of the union between Balder (a Lumen Sage) and Rose (an Umbra Witch), which is considered an extreme violation to the trusts of both clans, and both factions are capable of utilizing supernatural powers.

... And not to surprise you or anything, but if you take Jubelius and swap the 'e' with the 'i', you get 'Jubileus', which is the name of the final boss in Bayonetta.

You're right about the Bayonetta connection with the Jubelius Knights. Got inspired by that name when I reached her boss stage. The other reference with the Knights and the Assassins were from Assassin's Creed series. But during the duration of Vangard I wanted to drop the "Assassin" title and just call them as Azure, because before I made them out to be as real assassins killing off key leaders of the Jubelius Knights order. After some rewriting, I changed the original plot of Vangard and now it feels unnecessary to call them assassins when their main enemy are the Avarice.
