So yesterday there was an intense fire that broke out at a warehouse near my house off of Sunshine Avenue and Shoemaker in Santa Fe Springs. The smoke from the fire was so black that it blocked the sun at one point and stretched over the sky to the neighboring cities. I was in La Mirada when it first occurred, however it raged on for hours after, followed by small explosions.
As it turns out, it was a paint manufacturing warehouse, thus the barrels of paints and thinners caught fire and the explosions damaged the businesses next to it.
Thankfully no one was hurt, and the smoke blew the other way and did not settle in my community.

00 Wow! I remember this last summer an commercial storefront / office building caught fire in Rockford Illinois the city I live in and I remember that was an Pittsburg Paint store since it had an rainbow on the on side of the building and the logo was painted out except the rainbow then an tattoo shop with an sword & knife dealer upstairs then an Mexican Church that had moved out this last spring. I would walk past it all the time on the way to Family Video. The building was an total loss due to the Rockford F.D. had problems trying to go to the upstairs where the fire started and had to call Fire Departments from other near by towns for help before the upstairs & roof caved in causing the front of the building to collapse. It was on the local news. =^.^=
