PREVIOUS -STEP 4- NEXT
Time to get started on your eyes! I always do 3D eyes; I am not a fan of 2D eyes. So this step is how to make 3D “follow me” eyes. The base of the eye should be made of tough plastic. I like to use the cheapo white storage bin tops from Wal-Mart, but you could also use the plastic from a CLEAN bleach bottle.
Using paper, cut out the size of your eye. Be sure that the eye will fit inside the area of space for the eyes, then using the paper pattern, cut out two matching eye circles from the plastic. Then take the paper pattern again and cut it into a smaller circle and using an exact-o blade, cut out the inside holes for the pupils using the new smaller paper pattern. Don’t be afraid to make nice big pupil holes, the bigger they are, the better the vision will be. In using the paper patterns, you would have created matching eyes the same size. So this will help you from making the eyes lopsided.
Once you have the plastic cut out use a dremel tool with a sandpaper tip to round out and smooth out the eye plastic.
