PREVIOUS -STEP 5- NEXT
Next, take some nice porous buckram the size of your eyes and using acrylic paint, paint the buckram the color of your eyes. It helps to paint them on paper towels so after you can dab at the buckram with the paper towels a few times to soak up the extra paint and keep the buckram porous allowing for maximum visibility. Once dry, (only takes a few minutes to dry), take your plastic eye piece and using a low temp glue gun so you don’t burn your fingers put a ring of glue around the edge of the plastic and quickly lay the buckram over it before it cools pushing it down with your fingers. Then put another ring of glue on top of it sealing it in.
Now, it’s time to paint on the details of the eye. First, paint the black pupil on, then the white highlights, still on a paper towel continuously dabbing excess paint off. There is no right or wrong way to paint your eyes; it can be whatever looks good to you. Once dried, on the reverse side, black out the back of the eye using a black sharpie (Or using a sharpie that is a very similar color to your eyes). This will help increase your vision in the end.
