Like I said in my previous photograph, I know next to nothing about Shinto, so I'm unclear about what exactly you would call this srhine building. However, I have researched what the ropes over the doorway indicate. Essentially, they are a marker to indicate you are passing onto sacred ground, and you should be reverent once you proceed past them.
