Sad to know Hayao Miyazaki is retired now, he brought us so much joy, and it was so under appreciated by the world. I mean Frozen beat Miyazaki's last film, and the critics never saw either film, or didn't see one of them, I don't remember.

If you mean that Frozen beat The Wind Rises to the Best Animated Picture Oscar, that might be because The Wind Rises wasn't even eligible for it.

It wasn't released in the US until 2014. To qualify for the Oscars a picture has to be shown in a movie theater in Los Angeles County for seven consecutive days in the calendar year. So The Wind Rises should be eligible for the 2014 awards.

If you mean 'Frozen beat The Wind Rises at the box office', well yeah. One's designed to be a smash mass-market hit, and the other's a biopic-ish about a guy that's not very famous here.

It must have taken you a month solid, just to sketch this out. Let alone
ink and color it. Just how many anime are represented here?
I can only pick out three for certain, but it's been a while since I've
had the privilege of watching one of his movies.
