Piece I did as a sort of collaborative effort with
which was inspired by a lapis lazuli necklace and bracelet set he had created. It was displayed with and sold as a full set at EF :3
it was also a lot of fun not only including the jewellery in the image but coming up with some kind of outfit for the death god. :3
The whole set with jewellery can be seen here: https://twitter.com/Ukimori/status/.....95691532779520

Orisis or Wesir is the God of Death. Anubis didn't cause death. The concept of Anubis being a God of Death (grim reaper) is an American entertainment idea, and had nothing to do with the actual religion. http://www.per-sabu.org/aspects-and-roles1.html "The gift he (Anubis) presents is not just life, but rejuvenating life. The Romans believed that Anubis offered victory over the ultimate enemy - Death."
Also The Mummy series took the God of Peace who was Imhotep, and portrayed him as the epitome of evil. American entertainment generally is so far off from the actual religion, that the people who still follow that religion are often sickened by it...
Just thought that I would let you know.

People came to him for shamanic journeys into the depth of their soul, to get advice on how to raise their children, for the strength and wisdom to complete a class or finish that important business assignment, ect... He worked as much with the living as he did the dead, or more so. Anubis/Anup/Yinepu was considered the easiest of the Netjeru/deities to approach, and was the most forgiving to those that came to him.
Anubis taught embalming, and would give prophets visions of the afterlife, but he never was the cause of death, and actually went to great lengths to keep a living being from leading themselves to death. The ultimate goal in Kemet/ancient Egyptian religion, was to become a god after learning wisdom through many lives after all.
Anubis has been demonized because modern people believe that he would take evil people and feed them to Ammit, where they would be destroyed. This is not the case however. There is five parts to a soul, and the Heka, the life force and magic of a soul can not be destroyed or contained. However the heart-soul can become heavy with burdens of past wrongs, being betrayed by loved ones, or something as simple as coming to hate oneself. If the heart-soul was too heavy with pain, sorrow, or anger, then Anubis would have the heart-soul destroyed, so that the heka-soul could start fresh, and try again in the next life. Granted that the heka-soul would be restless, and basically be begging for life again, until it reincarnated with a brand new heart-soul.
Long story short... Anubis was a loving, compassionate, understanding, forgiving, and wise protector of life, every bit as much as he was a guide to basically Heaven for the souls of the dead.
I hope this helps you. ="3
