A heads up to anyone coming. There is a lot of construction going on at and near the Zoo. 1st Ave, Golfview Ave, and the parking lot itself. The last time I was there a few weeks ago, Golfview was completely closed at 1st ave, and only open to the parking lot entrance on the 31st ST side. 1st ave is down to 1 lane in each direction at Washington ave ( the south side entrance by the High School) side of the zoo. IT DOES CAUSE TRAFFIC DELAYS! in both directions on 1st. The Zoo is also in the process of moving the pay booths back further into the parking lot as well as resurfacing the lot. You will now have to go all the way to the north side of the lot before being able to turn west into the parking area. PLAN ON IT TAKING LONGER to get into the zoo and the usual meeting area in the parking lot
