Image 2 of 2.
And showing off the scabbard with the clamps disengaged and the blade free of the scabbard. Once the clamps are disengaged the wearer has to push/pull the blade in the opposite direction that the clamps swing and then pull up. Designed the scabbard so that the blade can't be pulled straight foward through the gap that i have left there.
Had to repurpose some rifle slings i had and alter them to function as harness loops so that the scabbard could be secured to the wearers leg either at the thigh or on the lower leg. The entire scabbard is rigid and will not bend under normal circumstances or under every day 'normal' abuse. Under excessive and extreme abuse it can be bent, the clamp locks ruined where they will not lock or remain locked or at worst break off at their hinges.
While the blade is sheathed in the scabbard it is encapable of being activated so under normal circumstances it cannot be activated and then pulled out of the scabbard in any manner that would risk damaging the scabbard itself.
I had lots of other technical stuff on my mind regarding this but suddenly find myself unable to recall them. x.x
