Okay i spent about a week just playing with shading on this.. its not going to get anymore complete since it was SUPPOSED to just be a bit of practice. Over all i'm rather happy with it. His arms are a pain in the a$$, especially the one on the right.. i have a terrible time trying to draw them normally i just HAD to do them this way too.. i'm sure there is stuff off about the anatomy but i really don't care at this point..

Enjoy the Captain's back and tentacle-y arms :P (he has weird eyes the sclera is dark almost black the cornea is bright teal/green with a yellowish pupil)
