Finally finished my Halloween pic for this year! :D
I freaking love Halloween or Samhain.
This is my OC Llyr ap Balor, riding his fae steed Ghost carrying the Cauldron of Fear, a war artefact in posession of House Balor. The thick smoke it produces endlessly covers the battlefield in fog and invokes primal fear in those who are fighting against the House.
He's a Changeling: The Dreaming character of mine and my latest addiction. He is half fae (Sidhe) and half Fomorian. A descendant from Balor of the Evil Eye, the fomorian king.
He's a diplomat and ambassador of his house which is well known for waging war on their opponents and being fierce warriors alltogether. While Llyr is not a warrior in the original sense, or in a stereotypical way, every noble house needs people with other skills. Carrying the Cauldron is, well, also a way of 'making contact' with new 'opponents'. ;)
Ghost's design was driving me crazy...my fiancé came up with the idea of a black horse, that, under the right light and circumstances, appears to be a ghostly figure, his bones shining through his body. Hard to nail with traditional media, especially and this was my first try... watch out for the next. ;) It gave me cramps but was good fun, tho!
I will offer one Halloween Commission in this style, soon, so keep an eye out for the advertisement and rules.
Mixed media on smooth hot-pressed watercolour paper. Ballpointpen + Ink Wash & some watercolour. If you like it, leave a comment and as I said...watch out for the upcoming commission offer.

Deine traditionellen Sachen sind einfach der Hammer. Ich wünschte ich könnte so gut mit Farben umgehen wie du. <3 Und die Anatomie natürlich auch wieder großartig.
Ich glaub ich muss echt mal mein Geld zusammenkratzen und darauf hoffen mal einen Commission Platz bei dir zu bekommen. :>
Ich wollte schon immer mal ein Bild von meiner Fursona pArAnOiA und meinem Pferd Orion. <3

There have been a couple of uploads today on my watchlist... but this is the submission I am coming back to all evening to look at it one more time. The whole thing is just so striking! The composition! The colours! The smoke!

Arghfl... I got so many of them by now, more than I can chew off them. (And I haven't even done most of them, they're all Birthday and Christmas presents by people who couldn't think of anything else of what to get me. ;D ) THIS one however is really tempting. XD And seems like something that I'd actually like to do. So... yeah, I think I'd like to have at least the option. :D
Traditional materials, not done entirely digitally. I have crazy respect for all artists, but there is something special about using real mediums to work in! Plus the ability to hold it in your hands is amazing.
