Looks like he brings some buddies with him...like the spirits that follow Japanese Kami. Very cool concept...and I have to admit, that stare is very eerie.

A really cool character. I really like the sense of movement.
What size is this?

This was done on 8.5x11 cardstock, it's pretty much the entire sheet, give or take a half inch on each side.

I tried to make it feel like it was moving, because the knives and nails and whatnot are kindof supposed to be flying at the viewer like a swarm of bees... but i have no idea how to achieve that effect really.

I understood the items were supposed to be moving toward the viewer so I'd say you were successfully there.

Looks like something straight out of Hell Raiser <__< Supernatural, ready to kill, full of pain... yeah, I'm ready to not have to be with a guy like this.

I think the body colour is important too... you've made it really realistic... if you did a close-up, try to turn his hair a little scatter... you know, like a real dead one... :/

They're not implements to kill (though they do) so much as they're sharp tools of industry, meat industries in particular. The fork is sort of the consumer end of it, and it belongs just as much as the butcher knives.
...It'd still suck if it got you in the eye :o

I remember Spook from like...3 years ago! Of course it was you, how did it take this long to draw that link! Heheh, I even dug the pic of him back up, the one that says "Pro slaughter. Anti industry. Spookhook." The hooves disappearing into his throat in that pic...it reminded me of big snakes, that was a very good pic, and I'm not even sure if it's here in this gallery!

I can see the two smoke releasing openings are still there, as are the various sharp items sticking into him. The free flying sharp object are new though, creeeepy. It looks like the sharp objects stuck into him are a little less randomly placed this time around.

He seems to be feeding on nonmaterial things now, I hope he gets a craving for actual meat again soon! XD

Yeah, i haven't really changed his design at all... i've just never drawn him from this angle.

Something about gravity-defying objects with wills of their own (think poltergeist) really intrigues me. The knives and such aren't necessarily a part of his manifestation, they're more like familiars i guess.
In a comment above i compared them to a swarm of bees, my intention in this picture was to have it look like they're all flying toward the viewer sharp-end-first.

He feeds on many things! The feast-beast of guilty burdens.

I'd still wanna hug him and thank him for being who he is....

And I'd have the flip the ring on his chest at least once. :P

I really like spookhook and the ideas behind him. Actually a few nights ago was thinking about him/had an idea in my head, maybe , with your permission I could draw at some point ^^

You know, they might be. I didn't have anything in mind when i drew them, but i thought afterward about castration rings. It'd sort of fit.

500 sets of balls is a lot of balls :-/

I love the sense of movement with the hovering/flying objects. Very creepy!

Technical stoofs: the prospective on the airborn pointies is AWESOME. I love how well you drew each and every one...it really "makes" the picture if that makes sense. :P

Gut-reaction stoofs: LOVIN' the overall design, it makes me flinch a little, which I think is a compliment to the image's intention. :D

Thanks a lot! I too am pretty pleased with the perspective on the flying objects... when i first thought to draw them i thought it was going to be more difficult than it was.
A couple of them aren't so good (like the scalpel down at the bottom... not forshortened quite enough) but eh, can't have everything perfect :P

As for the feeling it inspires, i'm happy to hear it makes you slightly uncomfortable, that's great! He's not really supposed to be cuddly. :P

Spook is awesome like that, in fact I think he gets more badass every time I find a new pic of him xD!

I keep coming back to this gem. The sorta goofy, mocking expressing goes so well with all the cutlery and syringes flying at you. Awesome character design too, narrowly avoiding the cliche but that just makes it greater. I'd love to see more art of this guy :)
