Hey hey, cool scaly brother ! Feel the peace attitude. Stress isn’t part of Draconis’ vocabulary. Some water to drink, some insects to eat, a big warm flat rock as the roof of your house and sunbeam hitting it on the right angle, and this paradise. What more would you ask for ? A Draconis’ life is really not complicated. When time comes, they search for a mate to have and raise children together and when the children grow older, each other just say bye bye and go back to his or her former life. That’s an easy life and you should probably compare their way of life to the « Hakuna matata » phylosophy.
Their small houses made of rocks are mostly built near some wild or big water spaces. Why ? Because they aren’t called « water walkers » for nothing. When a predator tries to eat you, it’s very useful to be able to run on the water.
Size : between 1m10 and 1m20 as anthro and around 30 centimeters on their lizard form.
Weight : between 10kg and 15 kg as anthros and around 200 grammes on their lizard form.
Status : Preys (but rarely eaten).
Life expectancy : around 35 years old (reach the adult age at 10).
Mostly living in : Almost everywhere near lakes, rivers, and big water spaces.
Age of their Civilization : Similar to our Iron Age (but they don’t have their own alphabet).
Type of houses/buildings : Small houses made of rocks jointed together to resist to any kind of weather.
Typical kind of names : They mostly give to their children hissing or «spitting » names. No family names and no clan names transmission.
Customs :
- The rise of the Sun : Every morning the Draconis pay tribute to the Sun by saying this prayer : « Praise to you, mighty golden who allows me to bask my humble scales on your rays when I should be freezing and snortting. »
- The Sun’s returning : When the sun is returning after a long disappearance Draconis use to welcome it by playing a sweet song to encourage it to stay as long as possible. (Yes, Draconis are pretty good musicians. ;) )
- The Summer’s heat : Summer is the most active period for the Draconis, they spend their time searching for a mate to share the summer heat.
Reproductive mode : Most of the time the female lay between 1 and 11 eggs 2 months after she got fertilized. She hides them on a secret place between rocks where it’s warm enough. She won’t sit on them to help them to hatch. But the parents keep an eye on the place until the eggs’ hatching. Sometimes they raise the children, sometimes they don’t and just show them one or two useful things before they abandon them to the wild life. It depends on their own experience and own personalities.
